Ondrej Obediar, BSc, MSc

Director of a charitable organization, Head of Health and Wellbeing, psychological counselor, psychotherapist, and university lecturer at LTU in healthcare, social care, and mental health programs.
Ondrej is originally from Slovakia. He studied at universities in Liverpool and Salford, earning a BSc (Hons) in Psychology and an MSc in Applied Psychology (Therapies), along with a postgraduate diploma from LJMU and another in Counselling and Psychotherapy from Chrysalis Institute. Since completing his studies, he has successfully worked as a work coach for the NHS. He currently serves as the Head of Health and Wellbeing and Director of the organization Growing Togetherness CIC. He also runs a private practice based in Manchester.
His professional interests include how nature can support mental health, workplace stress management, and using lifestyle coaching to help people transition toward more sustainable and fulfilling lifestyles.

He is also the Chair of the Slovak Catholic Mission for Northwest England and is involved in the integration of the Slovak Roma community in Leeds and Bradford.

He has proven experience organizing and participating in cultural, social, and national events in cooperation with embassies.

Multidisciplinary Antimicrobial Therapy:
An Example of Comprehensive Outpatient Infection Treatment
MUDr. Martin Kršák, MSc, FASAM

Martin Kršák is an Associate Professor of Medicine at the Division of Infectious Diseases, University of Colorado School of Medicine. His main areas of expertise include orthopedic infections and infectious complications associated with substance use, including non-sterile injections and related behaviors and circumstances (such as commercial sex work, homelessness, and incarceration).

Before joining the University of Colorado, he served as a faculty member in internal medicine, infectious diseases, and addiction medicine at Tufts University School of Medicine. At that time, he worked at Lemuel Shattuck Hospital in Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts — a state public health department hospital serving underprivileged, incarcerated, marginalized, and substance-using populations.

Dr. Kršák's other professional interests include the broader use of telemedicine and long-acting medications, as well as the impact of medical interventions on public health and healthcare economics across various settings, including correctional systems. Martin Kršák grew up in Slovakia (former Czechoslovakia) and earned his MUDr. degree from the Jessenius Faculty of Medicine at Comenius University in Martin, Slovakia. He completed his internal medicine residency at Caritas (later Steward) Carney Hospital in Dorchester, MA (an affiliate of Tufts University) and his infectious disease fellowship through the Tufts University program (Tufts Medical Center, Lahey Hospital, and Lemuel Shattuck Hospital). He earned an MSc in Clinical and Translational Science at Tufts and is currently pursuing an MBA at the University of Colorado Denver.

Monika has over 25 years of experience as a specialized nurse in the department of anesthesiology and intensive care. She worked in Bratislava for nearly nine years before continuing her nursing career in Kent, England. Her extensive experience offers a unique perspective on nursing practice and the differences in the role of a nurse in Slovakia compared to abroad.

Integration Journey of a Slovak Nurse in the United Kingdom

Katarina Morris, BSc
BSc in Nursing, Specialist Nurse in Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care, Professional Nurse Advocate

Katarína studied at the Secondary Medical School in Levoča, after which she worked for three years as a nurse in the Intensive Care Unit in the Czech Republic. She currently works as a Specialist Nurse in the Department of Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care in the United Kingdom, where she has lived for 21 years. Her main responsibilities include supporting families during complex situations and facilitating communication with doctors. She also runs a clinic for patients recovering from critical illness and provides restorative clinical supervision for nurses and other healthcare professionals. Her career and education focus primarily on psychology, communication, mental health support, and palliative care.

Integration of Foreign Nurses in Slovakia
MUDr. Jakub Rybár

Jakub Rybár graduated from the Faculty of Medicine at Comenius University. He worked at the National Oncology Institute and at Medissimo Hospital, where he earned a specialization in surgery. He later served as the director of Medissimo Hospital, Novapharm Hospital, and AGEL Skalica University Hospital. He currently holds positions as a board member of AGEL Skalica University Hospital and Radiology s.r.o., and as the director of AGEL Clinic Bratislava. Within the AGEL Group, he is actively involved in development projects focused on telemedicine and robotics.
